The Texas Asian Republican Club of Houston (TARC) recently capped off another successful year with its annual fun-filled Christmas Party. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing and catching up with many of our closest friends and supporters. Harris County GOP Chair Paul Simpson, Fort Bend County GOP Chair Mike Gibson, State Represenative Rick Miller, Alief ISD Board of Trustees, Nghi Ho and Lily Truong, and newly elected and TARC endorsed Houston City Council members Dr. Steve Le and Mike Knox joined us with more than 70 Asian American friends in celebrating the holiday season. Our guests enjoyed a smorgasbord of deliciousness that ranged from honey-glazed ham to pork dumplings. Dozens of toys were donated at the event for Toys for Tots. AND…we had a very special guest from North Pole who crashed our party to entertain the kids! Yep you know the one…
At the gathering, Dr. Martha Wong, our current President for Texas Asian Republican Assembly (TARA), the umbrella statewide organization for TARC – Houston, spoke about the vision of TARA and the importance of engaging Asian Americans. Newly elected TARC Vice President, JJ Clemence, led TARC officer and advisory board members in wishing all attendees happy holidays. State Republican Executive Committee member, Tina Gibson, who chairs the Auxiliaries and Coalitions Committee for the State GOP and is a loyal friend of TARC, provided words of praise and encouragement for the club’s consistent engagement and Asian American outreach. Both Harris and Fort Bend County GOP chairmen gave updates on their respective counties. Long-time TARC board member, Bill Wong, welcomed candidates for office to introduce themselves, many of whom we hope to see again in the future.
Not only did we have Santa, we also had our very own Christmas-themed Karaoke station! If you’re saying, “oh man, how did I miss that?” Well, put a reminder on your calendar NOW for next year! We would love to have you.
TARC wants to sincerely thank all attendees who made the time to come out and celebrate the season with us. We truly appreciate your support and friendship. We look forward to seeing y’all back with us in 2016 re-energized and ready to engage!
From all of us at TARC, we wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
P.S. We have a new officer board for 2016. E-meet them here and in person at our next gathering.
