The White House Initiative – Meet Tina Wei Smith, WHIAAPI Executive Director

We are excited to announce that in December of 2019, Tina Wei Smith joined the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) as Executive Director. In this capacity, she is responsible for directing the efforts of the White House Initiative and the President’s Advisory Commission on AAPIs to advise federal agency leadership on the implementation and coordination of federal programs as they relate to AAPIs across executive departments and agencies.

Dr. Hotez is the Dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, and a staunch vaccine advocate. This discussion will give an overview of COVID-19 in the Houston/Harris County Area, highlight the response moving forward, and provide expert insight into the current race to develop a vaccine for COVID-19.
